Akeel Lynch transferring; Former TE Breneman hired as campaign manager

STATE COLLEGE---Penn State running back Akeel Lynch announced Wednesday he will transfer for his final season of eligibility.

Lynch was the starting running back to begin the season, but lost playing time due to injuries and the emergence of true freshman Saquon Barkley.

In a letter posted on his Twitter account Wednesday Lynch thanked his Penn State coaches, Joe Paterno, Bill O'Brien and James Franklin.

Lynch was considered a mentor to the younger running backs this past season. He will earn his undergraduate degree from Penn State this spring.
