Colleen Carltons Death - The Young and the Restless

I’m a longtime viewer of Y&R. But, I can’t seem to remember the circumstances surrounding the death of Tracy Abbott’s daughter Colleen Carlton. I remember that she died in the same lake that her father, Brad Carlton died. Does anyone remember?

Off the top of my head, I think crazy PattyCakes was somehow involved. Colleen found her tied up at the Abbott (?) cabin. She freed her, and Patty ended up kidnapping Colleen, who managed to turn the tables and get Patty at gunpoint. PattyCakes needed medical attention, and Colleen took the canoe to get help. She fell out and eventually drowned.

I’m sure someone else can fill in details I can’t recall, but that was the gist of it.

I remember PattyCakes! She was always petting that stuffed cat!

If memory serves, Victor brought crazy Patty back to GC. And he profited by getting her heart. That heart was much too pure for Victor!

It’s a long convoluted story. I will try to explain it without turning this into a novel but I’m not sure if I’m going to succeed.

Colleen and JT had an affair while he was married to Victoria.

There is sexual encounter was videotaped and she lost a job when the video was posted online.

She went to the Abbott cabin to wallow and misery and she found Patty Williams tied to a chair. Gloria and Jeff had kidnapped her and were banking on ransom from Jack and Victor.

She untied Patty who then kidnapped Colleen and took her to a camp and tied her to a tree.

Patty used Colleen’s phone to call Jack and Colleen shouted part of the name of the camp to give Jack a clue as to where she was being held.

Patty was bitten by a spider and Colleen got loose and got hold of the gun. Colleen tried to help her and Patty got the gun back.

She convinced Patty to let her go to find help. Colleen took a canoe but fell out and hit her head.

Thanks to Colleen’s hint, Jack knew where she was and raced there and pulled her out of the lake. But Patty held a gun on him and prevented him from performing CPR.

Victor tried to convince Patty to let Jack help Colleen but she shot Victor three times and then ran off into the woods.

Colleen was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced braindead.

It’s important to know that Victor was the one who brought Patty Williams back to Genoa City. He had paid for plastic surgery and she came back with a new face, using the name Mary Jane Benson. Victor’s goal was to get revenge on Jack Abbott through Patty Williams.

I can’t get over it. It was the worst thing they have ever done on the soap. It was so unnecessary. I get irritated just thinking about it. We didn’t need this. They need to rewrite it. Please fix it.

I was watching Tracy (Beth Maitland) on today’s episode. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice if somehow, a child came into Tracy’s life?” Her character is so full of love and life. She would have so much to give to a child.

They have absolutely decimated the Abbott family in favour of the Newman family. They kill off or ship out the Abbott family while the Newman’s flourish! It’s about time that some of them left town or were killed off permanently!

They killed off John Abbott the patriarch of the Abbott family. They could certainly do the same to the Newman’s!

Yes, this so important to be reminded of. It helps reinforce why I have hated Victor forever. One of the saddest s/l’s ever and it will gall me forever that Victor was given Colleen’s heart.

I also think whoever was the writer at the time hated the character of Brad for some reason and had to kill off any trace of him including his daughter. It’s nice that he and Colleen are mentioned on occasion now.

I don’t think they have EVER killed off an actual blood-related member of the Newman family. Cassie is the closest, and she’s not a Newman by blood, only adoption. Contrast that to the Abbots - Delia, Colleen, Keemo, John, Dina, all dead. Or the Winters, or the Chancellors.

And while not killed off…why is it we never see Billy’s children who are ABBOTTs at Jack’s house, but they can spend days or weeks at Newman ranch
Jack talks about how great to have Harrison at the house …well he could have had Johnny and Katie there also

Yes it was her real cat that she had taxidermied.

She also killed Victor’s dog Zapato… or was it Sympatico? Anyway it was the first dog he had that she killed, which is why he ended up getting a second one. He needed a trained service dog to predict his seizures.

What? Taxidermied? I could swear I heard him meow. LOL
Actually the story goes, Zapato found and chewed up Kitty, so Pattiecake killed him in revenge.
