CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The city of Johnstown now has its second AAABA national title.
Johnstown Mainline Pharmacy beat the New Orleans Boosters Saturday night at Sargent’s Stadium at the Point to secure the city’s second championship since 2018.
Johnstown took the lead early and didn't look back, taking a lead of three to two.
They were able to hold on to that lead sealing the deal with a strike out.
It was the 78th year of the AAABA tournament.
“It’s a surreal moment to play in front of all these fans and to bring another championship to Johnstown, it’s honestly surreal from me bat-boying in the tournament, not making it to the tournament, bat-boying in the AABA whenever I was younger to making it to the tournament this year it’s honestly a surreal feeling,” said Head Coach Tim Rubal.
Johnstown Mainline Pharmacy defeated Columbus Friday night 10 to eight to make it into the championship game.
