JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Juneteenth celebrations continue in downtown Johnstown. June 19th, 1866 was the day when the last slaves in America were freed. And Thursday, President Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law. Organizers say the event is about love, education, unity and inclusion. They say it's important to share your heritage and history with others because racism is still an issue. Activities and events continue and run through Saturday in various locations around Johnstown.
