Rapper Tay-K Sentenced To 55 Years In Prison For Deadly Robbery

TEXAS (CelebrityAccess) – Texas rapper Tay-K was sentenced to 55 years in prison and a $21,000 fine Tuesday (July 23) on a murder charge for a robbery that left one man dead, according to CNN.

The 19-year-old, whose legal name is Taymor McIntyre, was found guilty along with six other men of the murder of Ethan Walker, in Mansfield, Texas in 2016. The men had intended to rob Walker and another man of drugs and money and in the subsequent home invasion, Walker was shot dead. His girlfriend testified that he’d had his hands in the air when he was killed.

McIntyre’s lawyers argued that he didn’t fire the lethal shot so he shouldn’t have been convicted of the murder. The rapper was also convicted of three counts of aggravated robbery.

Tay-K gained notoriety in 2017 when he cut off his ankle bracelet and fled house arrest. He released a song called “The Race,” which now has more than 174 million views on YouTube. The video shows the rapper posing next to a wanted poster of himself. He was captured in New Jersey after three months on the run, according to KTVT.
