EGYPT (CelebrityAccess) Red Hot Chili Peppers have been announced as the latest Western rock act to perform at the historic Pyramids of Giza in Egypt March 15.
RHCP will follow in the footsteps of Sting and The Grateful Dead in what Vogue magazine breathlessly proclaimed as “exciting” and a “hotly anticipated performance.” The show will round out the band’s two-year world tour to promote its 11th album, The Gateway.
“My heart is abuzz with joy at the prospect of performing in Egypt,” Flea tweeted. “I’m so grateful and humbled for the impending experience.”
Other acts to perform at Giza include Frank Sinatra, Pink Floyd, Shakira, Mariah Carey and Kylie Minogue.
