How much snowfall you can expect

After a relatively quiet start to the winter season, things are changing quickly heading into the weekend and next week.

Our first widespread snow event of the season will unfold on Saturday with snow spreading from south to north during the late-morning hours.

Snowfall rates could reach up to 1 inch per hour for a time Saturday afternoon, with roads becoming snow covered and slippery.

The highest totals in our region will be across the Eastern Alleghenies, where 5 to 7 inches is expected.

The lightest amounts will be to the west and north of Clearfield, farther away from the storm system.

Another storm system will bring a wintry mix and high winds next week. Stay tuned!
